excess baggage

I love my Green Bags from Publix. I love that they hold twice as much as a normal plastic bag. I love that it's made from recycled materials. I love that it only cost 99 cents. I also love the genius at my Publix who posted the sign "Forget something? Don't leave green bags in the car!"

Did you know that Wal-Mart and Target have reusable bags, too? The Target one folds up into a tiny pouch the size of a eyeglass case that you can throw in your purse. The come in the traditional Target Red - I gave ten away as valentines this year.

Ikea is famous for banning plastic bags in their European chains, and charging for plastic bags in their US stores. I bought this amazing bag for only 59 cents. It's incredibly durable; I use it all the time on car trips or as an additional laundry basket.

On the way to an awards ceremony the other night, I had to make a quick stop at the party store for a replacement table cloth. Since I was only running in and out of the store and then right into the ceremony, I told them to skip the plastic bag. It got me thinking of how often I've run in and out and could skip bags altogether. Or how many times have I come out of the mall with a plethora of plastic bags with only one item in each? Next time, I'll just stuff it all in one.

double coupon day

Although, I don't want my blog to become a constant product plug, I do want to share information with you when I can. This is my awesome new water bottle. Never have I found a bottle that keeps water cold all day regardless of the temperature outside. Made from a single sheet of aluminum, it's completely reusable and cuts down on waste. It's also BPA-free, and 100% of the proceeds went to the PUR water campaign to make safe drinking water available to children in developing countries.

In addition to being eco-friendly, I love the Obama-friendly slogan. Order yours today.

blast off

Hooray!

The seed for this blog was planted awhile ago. I can't wait to watch it grow.

I hope you can keep up.
